Can’t wait for Jelly Bean on your rooted Kindle Fire?

It’s here already! You can install a fully-working CM10 Jelly Bean ROM on your rooted Kindle Fire. Everything pretty much works so you can be rest-assured to get your hands on some candy early.

This isn’t the final build or a stable though so be aware that you are flashing a “beta” version of Jelly Bean ROM. You may find some bugs still even though I haven’t found any.

Try it out and let me know how it works for you!

Thanks much for the jelly bean CM10.
it does better on my fire. Just got three errors: YouTube has stopped.
Google Play Books has stopped. Google Play Music has stopped.
By uninstalled all these three, then the fire works fine.

  2. Frans says:

    I just installed. looks great

But … the first problem that I found, NO SOUND!

    Someone also has the problem?
    you can fix that?

    Help please
    regards

  3. Joseph says:

Did you guys make this, or was it a devoloper from XDA? Anyways, you should add powerpoint45′s CM10 Alien Droid ROM here.(If these are ROMS made by XDA members, not you)

  4. Pilgrymm says:

  6. Birdman_85 says:

Currently rooting my Samsung S2, have rooted my Fire with CM9 Energy, would love to have a completely functional ROM. Think i’ll wait for something to blow my mind. Also something with underclock for those long reading stints.

  7. Joseph says:

Hey, I made a ROM for the kindle fire called Iced Jellybean.

  8. isaac says:

everything’s fine except YouTube does not work and google now doesn’t seem to do anything except sync with google calendar.

  9. Jekay says:

Hey, thanks. It is impressive how fast my kindle fire has become with jelly bean CM10, but….. battery drain is twice as much

  10. Paul says:

I loved this at first but ran in to 2 showstoppers. First, charging issues. It would randomly not charge at all and the OS didn’t seem to be aware of the battery level until after a reboot. Second, any third party widgets would disappear after reboot (specifically Weather Bug Elite and any widgets from the Beautiful Widgets set). Hope these are ironed out soon because I really want to be running 4.1.1.

  11. Mark Edward says:

Just installed this over CM9, and this runs WAY faster. The notification bar looks better than the previous one, but I’m also running into a similar problem to others.

Sound works, but if using the shortcut sound button from the notification bar, it gets stuck on mute. The only way to fix this is to pull open the Settings and manually unmute sound from there.

    • Mark Edward says:

Hurg, nevermind. The system had that shortcut sound button set to null by default. I had to jump into the Settings and change it so that it could cycle between ‘Silent’ and ‘Sound’. Would like to find a way to display a volume slider.

  12. Stuart Kerr says:

First of all, thanks so much for the great rom and the instructions. Loaded it and it works like a charm. However, i too have charging issues. i have tried multiple chargers from multiple plugs. I’ve refreshed the battery systems prefs screen. No luck. It just keeps saying “Discharging”. I’ve rebooted. No difference. Do you have any idea what might be causing it or how to fix? I REALLY like this and want to keep it but can’t if i can’t charge the device.

  13. alex says:

I’m having similar issues as well, but overall I think it is much better than CM9.

    My issues.
    - volume control gets stuck on mute
    - no microphone for voice search
    - battery drain: my fire’s battery will drain to 0 without turning on the screen. If its powered off no problem, but if I just turn off the screen it drains.

  14. nancy_sparkz says:

Any way to get the volume slider on the status bar? kind of a pain since kindle doesnt have hardware buttons…

    thanks :)

  15. VDubs says:

I redid my KF last night from ICS and WOW!! My KF is faster than my laptops now!! The only problem I have is that it will not charge unless the screen is off 0_o Is there a way to fix this?? I plug it in and it will not show it charging so I left it plugged in all night and it was charged by morning. Any suggestions??

    Thanks !

  16. josef says:

I have CM9 and I have the tablet plugged into the charger and the tablet still says discharging even though it is plugged in. should I revert back to my old rom so it will charge?

  17. Zach says:

Love the rom just can’t get the kindle reader software working

  18. Shawn Eckhart says:

I flashed to this ROM and all I get when I boot it a screen saver of triangles walking up the screen. Any suggestions?
